This is the entry level of the Professional Program.  Requirements are, minimum age 18 and have 60 logged dives, have a current CPR certification and have a Rescue Diver Certification or equal.  This course gives you the training to work hand-in-hand with an instructor as an assistant during training dives and is a valuable experience for those moving on to becoming an Instructor.  

You will be certified as a Divemaster.   Anyone who is in good health, comfortable in the water and relatively fit can earn a Divemaster Certification.  You will utilize the text for the knowledge development portion, you will make a minimum of two pool dive to learn and practice necessary skills and you will make four open water dives at either a lake or ocean.  The Divemaster Course has been developed as a performance based course.  As you successfully demonstrate each portion of the course you move onto the next.  This allows you to move at your own pace.  The course requires an internship of working with an instructor during training dives in the pool and in open water situations for several different courses.

The cost of the Divemaster Certification covers course tuition and pool rental. 

The student must provide a quality mask, snorkel, fins, weights and belt, regulator with console/compass and second stage, a BCD.  You the student will also be responsible for a wetsuit on your open water dives. If you do not own your own equipment Black Tip Divers has equipment that you may rent.  Please contact us prior to your class so that we can have the equipment you need.

Each student is required to have a dive log book.  Certain specialty dives require additional equipment and additional cost may be incurred and this is the responsibility of the student.  Each student must have all current divemaster manuals.

Price does NOT include, transportation to and from your open water dives, food, drinks or lodging during open water dives, lake entry fee, air fills during open water dives or wet suit rental for your open water dives.   For more information about certification email us at divercert@blacktipdivers.com
