An Open Water Certification or equal is required to take this course. This course improves skills obtained during Open Water while providing you more in depth training in deep diving, boat diving, navigation, night diver and many other areas as conditions dictate. You will be certified as a Advanced Open Water Diver. Anyone who is in good health, comfortable in the water and relatively fit can earn a Advanced Open Water Diver Certification. If you have children ages 12 to 14 they can be certified as a Junior Advanced Open Water Diver so the entire family can enjoy the fun. During the scuba course you will learn advanced navigation, deepwater diving (below 60 ft.), advanced diving techniques. You will utilize the text for the knowledge development portion, you will make a minimum of one pool dive to refresh necessary skills and you will make five open water dives at either a lake or ocean. The Advanced Open Water Diver Course has been developed as a performance based course. As you successfully demonstrate each portion of the course you move onto the next. This allows you to move at your own pace. The course can be completed in as few as two (very long days) or take up to 5 or more weeks. Your five dives are DEEP DIVE, UNDERWATER NAVIGATION and three additional chosen from the following: Altitude Dive, AWARE-Fish Identification, Boat Dive, Diver Propulsion Vehicle Dive, Drift Dive, Dry Suit Dive, Multilevel and Computer Dive, Night Dive, Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive, Search and Recovery, Underwater Naturalist Dive, Underwater Photography Dive, Underwater Videography Dive, Wreck Dive The cost of the Advanced Open Water Certification covers course tuition, and Advanced Open Water Dive Manual, and pool rental. The student must provide a quality mask, snorkel, fins, weights and belt, regulator with console/compass and second stage, a BCD. You the student will also be responsible for a wetsuit on your open water dives. If you do not own your own equipment Black Tip Divers has equipment that you may rent. Please contact us prior to your class so that we can have the equipment you need. Each student is required to have a dive log book. Because you must make a minimum of one pool dive you must spend some time in the pool. Certain specialty dives require additional equipment and additional cost may be incurred and this is the responsibility of the student.
Price does NOT include, transportation to and from your open water dives, food, drinks or lodging during open water dives, lake entry fee, air fills during open water dives, dive equipment or wet suit rental for your open water dives.
